Business Development Director/VP (Insurance)

Travel: 30%-40%

Our client is a global presence in the specialty insurance industry. We are currently seeking an individual contributor to join their growing business development team. The successful candidate will identify, engage and convert new prospects in their assigned territory. A proven track record of B2B sales within the US finance sector is desired. The ideal candidate will have the ability to leverage new client program launches, while increasing  market share and delivering measurable commercial outcomes.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Drive new business growth by identifying, targeting, and converting equipment finance and leasing companies into revenue-generating clients across the US.
  • Own the full sales cycle—from lead generation, qualification, and proposal through to negotiation and close.
  • Cultivate strong executive-level relationships and serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to senior client stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the wider commercial team to deliver compelling sales messaging, campaigns, lead generation strategies and attend in-person events.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our solutions and the broader leasing market to position our products as high-value, strategic offerings.
  • Analyze client business needs and translate them into tailored value propositions and commercial solutions.

Overview of Desired Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Proven record in B2B sales within financial services, ideally in the leasing or banking industry.
  • Strong experience leading the sales process from prospecting to close, with demonstrable success in exceeding revenue targets.
  • Background in solution-based selling and strategic account development.
  • Ability to negotiate and close complex deals with C-suite executives and senior decision- makers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; confident in delivering compelling pitches and product demonstrations.
  • Strategic thinker with a sharp commercial mindset and strong analytical and problem- solving capabilities.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage a pipeline effectively while juggling competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Sense of urgency
  • Proficient in MS Office and Dynamics
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.
  • Flexibility to support clients and internal teams across time zones.
