General:
A tactical sales management position that will manage critical vendor relationships and sales force activities. The position requires a working knowledge of supplier-wholesale relationships as well as building and maintaining strategic customer relationships. Develop goals and the tactics required to meet the fiscal goals of the business in a complex, multi-tiered market.
Pathing:
The successful candidate will need to quickly acquire very specific knowledge of the company culture and business model; industry practices; competitive positioning; mission-critical supplier relationships; and company (infrastructure) systems. These skills must be acquired through the close mentorship of the previous Business Unit Manager.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain high level relationships with critical vendors.
- Develop sales plans and goals to ensure each contract thrives and grows beyond vendor expectations.
- Manage and build customer relationships, track data and meet emerging needs.
- Engage in key or targeted customer activities.
- Cultivate new vendor relationships and align with current vendors to drive in-branch sales
- Create, modify, update and communicate business unit reports and strategic goals to upper management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems and concerns, documenting root cause and fixes.
- Maintain, mentor, cultivate and train a motivated sales and support team.
- Establish goals for individuals and establish parameters for performance evaluation.
- Manage purchasing agent and ensure proper inventory levels to meet sales in given markets.
- Continuously improve and reduce damage and freight costs and meet inventory goals and expectations.
- Consistently monitor purchasing goals by vendor to ensure maximization of rebates and special buy programs.
- Consistently monitor vendor claim backs to ensure proper reporting and profitability.
- Participate in industry trade organizations and shows in order to network and expand the business unit offering.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3+ years managing an outside salesforce
- Prior successful sales experience both individually and managing people
- Strong desire to grow
- CRM experience
- Proven sales and leadership experience
