Miscellaneous Metals Project Manager (Steel Fabricator)

 Comp: $70K to $110K

The company has an opening in their Northern Virginia office overseeing projects in the DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia (DMV) region as part of their project management team. You must already be authorized to work in the U.S. (citizen or green card) AND have project management experience specific to the industry or related education.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating with detailers to monitor progress of drawings.
  • Identifying, requesting and following up on required information from architects and engineers.
  • Performing field measurements.
  • Coordinating with other trades, suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Scheduling production and delivery of materials.
  • Scheduling and overseeing erection.
  • Resolving job site problems.
  • Pricing and issuing change order requests and negotiating change orders with General Contractors, Construction Managers, or Owners.
  • Working with accounting on job cost estimates and other financial matters.
  • Issuing close out documents.
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Developing and maintaining erector relationships and capabilities.
  • Traveling to job sites (mostly day trips within driving distance).
  • Other work as assigned by executives.

Experience & Education

  • At least 2 years of experience in project management for a miscellaneous metals fabricator/erector or have completed 3 years of study in architecture, construction management or civil/structural engineering.
  • Must be able to read architectural/structural drawings.
