Our client is a major commercial insurance carrier. Well respected, financially stable and in growth mode. We are working with them to recruit and place a Business Data Analytics Lead. This key position on the Business Solutions Team will be an integral part of their continued growth & success. We are seeking a Problem Solver who operates with a sense of urgency.
The position supports the management information needs of the company. Activities involve gathering management information needs and delivering solutions using the tools and technology available to the company. In addition, the role will lead efforts to investigate and use new system platforms, 3rd party data brokers, and evolving data analytics tools to further enrich processes and management information. The role will work with and manage efforts with other internal teams, sister companies and external system vendors. The role requires understanding the key metrics to be delivered and working with data sources and other teams to deliver solutions.
Overview of Duties & Responsibilities
• Partner with the internal business teams to define management information needs, design solutions, and work with internal and external resources to deliver management information systems.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the reporting tools and data sources available to the company for the purpose of maximizing the usage of supported resources.
• Work with data owners to implement standards and collection processes that ensure accurate and timely handling of data to meet the company information needs.
• Lead all phases of management information development including research, selection, design, and implementation. Establish on-going support processes.
• Drive the company needs as part of large or complex projects to ensure the quality and timely delivery of management information needs.
• Spearhead research into new technologies and trends related to data usage and management information technologies. Look for opportunities to improve business processes and business analytics through use of data tools. This includes SaaS, process automation, Underwriting and Risk Analysis, AI, and other trends that are pertinent to the company.
Desired Skills/Experience
• 10 + years’ experience in data analytics and associated toolsets.
• Demonstrated experience developing management information systems, analytics, and data management processes in a commercial lines Property & Casualty setting.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Experience training others on systems
• Ability to listen
• Communicate effectively with internal & external stakeholders.
• Project Management skills/experience.
• Detailed experienced with data analytics from a policy and claims perspective.
• Demonstrated use of systems development / implementation methodologies.
• Experience using SAS, SQL, Power BI, Excel, Oval Edge, Guidewire data tools or other data development and analytics tools.
