Comp: $80K-$115K (experience dependent)
Our client is a major commercial insurance carrier. Well respected, financially stable and in growth mode. We are working with them to recruit and place a Business System Analyst. We are seeking a Problem Solver who operates with a sense of urgency.
The focus of this position is on supporting the Commercial Lines policy rating and issuance systems. The Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and following standards for system analysis, requirements gathering, system testing, and vendor management. This successful candidate will work towards the goal of maximizing business value through development of system functionality and streamlined workflows.
Overview of Duties & Responsibilities
• Conduct requirements analysis, developing and documenting both business requirements & detailed specifications for system implementation.
• Develop test strategy including test plan(s) and perform test execution and problem resolution.
• Assist in Project Management oversight when required including oversight of internal and external resources.
• Act as a team member in large and/or complex projects that require the skilled Business Systems Analyst role.
• Analyze requests for modifications and/or enhancements and subsequently define & prepare alternative solutions
• Support internal and external clients by analyzing, researching, and providing solutions to inquiries relating to system entry, coding, procedures, or user manuals to ensure quality resolution.
• Provide oversight of interface data coming from our business partners including Third Party Administrators to guarantee timely interfacing of transactional data into Corporate Record.
• Keep current with Property & Casualty Insurance knowledge and industry technology.
• Utilize that knowledge to enhance/develop productivity tools, standards, and procedures to contribute to the effective and efficient operation of the department and company.
Overview of Desired Skills/Experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst knowledgeable in commercial P&C Insurance
• Bachelor’s Degree
• CPCU classes a Plus
• Demonstrated working knowledge of coverages and rating of ISO Commercial Property, General Liability, Excess, Commercial Auto, or other commercial lines of business.
• Experienced with supporting and developing Policy or Claims Administration Systems in a Commercial Property and Casualty setting. Experience with Insurity,
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Keen attention to detail.
• Demonstrates use of systems development / implementation methodologies exhibiting solid analytical skills geared toward understanding application workflows and access mechanisms.
• Experience with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio.
