Comp: Base $150K-$175K + Bonus
Supports the Chief Financial Officer in managing and directing the organization’s financial reporting, accounting practices and planning as well as its relationships with investor relations, auditors, lawyers and the financial community.
The Director of Financial Reporting serves an important role in the company as they are responsible for public company reporting matters including preparation and review of SEC financial statements as well as compiling supporting schedules within SEC reporting guidelines. As a key member of the Corporate Finance team, you will provide technical accounting guidance on US GAAP topics and be responsible for preparing company position memorandums as needed. This position would be responsible for verifying all required US GAAP and SEC standards are in place and being followed, including communication across the organization of new standards, identification of any training that is needed, and then ensuring follow up mechanisms are in place to be sure the standards are implemented and functioning company wide. A specific area of focus will be ensuring Revenue Recognition is in compliance with US GAAP across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for public company reporting matters including preparation and review of SEC financial statements including compiling supporting schedules within SEC reporting guidelines.
- Providing technical accounting guidance on US GAAP topics.
- Responsible for preparing company position memorandums.
- Provide support of ICFR processes surrounding SOX404 compliance.
- Interacts with financial and operational personnel throughout the organization as necessary.
- Providing support for M&A Due Diligence to assist in identifying risks/gaps within the Target companies that would need to be addressed post-acquisition to ensure compliance with public company reporting requirements
- Assisting with post-acquisition integration activities as it relates to US GAAP and SEC standards.
- Coordinates various matters with the organization’s legal counsel and external accounting professionals.
- Keeping abreast of any proposed or accepted rules and regulation changes related to US GAAP and SEC Standards.
- Collaborates in maintaining and reviewing equity schedules and calculations, including weighted average shares outstanding.
- Handling various special projects and assignments as needed.
Background/Skills Preferred:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance CPA certification, strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in audit and/or financial reporting role within a publicly traded company required (10 years preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience working with geographically separated employees and international experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees to include superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company
- Ability and openness to travel both domestic/international
- Proficiency with standard computer applications (MS Office) and various Financial Tools. Strong Excel skills preferred
