Our client is a full-service law firm with approximately 200 attorneys in 15 offices in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, NYC, Boston, and Wilmington DE. They provide services to a wide range of business clients from the lower middle market to Fortune 500 companies on a regional and national basis. The law firm is part of a diversified professional services firm with synergistic lines of business, including an investment bank and other complementary financial and consulting services firms.
The Senior Manager, Marketing will support the execution of marketing communications strategies and day-to-day operations that enhance the firm’s brand. Reporting to the CMO, the Senior Manager, Marketing is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing content and communications strategies that enhance the platform’s visibility and brand and align with the platform’s strategic plan and business development objectives. This position is supported by content development, digital and technology marketing professionals and will liaise directly with the business development team and firm professionals.
Content Strategy and Leadership
This role touches on a wide scope of marketing channels:
- Create and execute ongoing marketing/visibility plans with an emphasis on the platform’s key markets
- Serve as an authority and owner of the firm’s external communication channels. Oversee the strategy, design and distribution of communications and content spanning website language, social media, news development, press releases and advertising, ensuring all remain consistent with the firm brand
- Collaborate with firm professionals to identify and implement content opportunities and coordinate publication schedules to ensure consistent, high-quality content delivery across all channels
- Build and maintain relationships with publications for advertising and article placement and other strategic purposes
Project Management and Production
- Oversee content production workflows from conception through publication and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including practice group management and business development and recruiting professionals
- Manage relationships with external vendors including freelance writers, designers and marketing agencies
- Manage web development and digital marketing teams to ensure consistent, optimized digital content across channels
- Analyze content performance metrics and adjust strategies based on engagement and business development outcomes
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 15+ years of marketing and management experience in a law firm is required
- B.A./B.S. in marketing, journalism, communications or related field, or commensurate on-the-job experience
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills with keen attention to detail
- Strong understanding of legal industry terminology and practices, and the advertising and communications regulations characteristic of the industry
- Strategic mindset with ability to connect marketing initiatives to business objectives
- Project management skills with the ability to lead initiatives, project teams and people, all while handling competing priorities
- Strong analytical skills to measure/analyze campaign effectiveness and ROI, and to utilize them for strategy development
- Experience with content management systems, social media platforms and a full range of digital marketing tools, including web-based publishing platforms
- Periodic travel to the firm’s offices is required
