Our client is seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet & Equipment Mechanic to keep a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers, landscaping equipment, and snow-removal equipment safe, reliable, and ready for daily operations.
Compensation: $28–$40 per hour, depending on experience
Benefits: Excellent Schedule: 40 hours per week + OT
This is a hands-on position for an experienced mechanic who enjoys diagnosing problems, making repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and keeping equipment downtime to a minimum.
The ideal candidate is a dependable problem solver with strong mechanical and diagnostic skills who takes pride in quality work and maintaining a safe, organized shop.
What You’ll Do
· Work closely with the Fleet Manager to plan and prioritize weekly maintenance and repairs
· Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair trucks, trailers, small engines, and fleet equipment
· Perform preventative maintenance based on company and manufacturer schedules
· Respond to urgent repair needs to minimize equipment downtime
· Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, parts used, labor hours, and repair notes
· Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient shop environment
· Identify unsafe equipment and promptly communicate concerns to the Fleet Manager or Operations team
· Follow all safety procedures when lifting equipment, using tools, and handling fluids or hazardous materials
· Prepare landscaping and snow-removal equipment for seasonal operations
· Identify recurring mechanical issues and recommend long-term solutions
· Communicate effectively with Fleet and Operations regarding equipment condition, repairs, and upcoming maintenance needs

What We’re Looking For
· Previous experience as a Fleet Mechanic, Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Small Engine Mechanic, or in a similar hands-on mechanical role
· Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
· Experience servicing and repairing commercial equipment
· Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs efficiently
· Dependable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented work habits
· Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with the Fleet Manager and Operations team
· A willingness to work overtime and respond to seasonal equipment needs when required
